Delivery ceremony of MV 85000DWT 'SEACON NOLA'

On the 1st of February, the 85000 DWT bulk carrier "SEACON NOLA" surveyed  by China Classification Society (CCS) and built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited was successfully delivered. Mr. Fan Qiang – Vice President of CCS was invited to the delivery and naming ceremony.

MV "SEACON NOLA" is a new type of energy-saving and environmental-friendly vessel built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited for Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited. The vessel obtains three advantages of high speed, low fuel consumption and large cargo capacity through deploying a silent bulb bow, high-efficiency propeller, and energy-saving devices, as well as optimizing the hull lines and cabin arrangement. Its overall performance reaches the world’s leading level and realizes remarkable economic benefits.

The vessel has a total length of 228.9 metres, a width of 36 metres, a depth of 20.15 metres, a design draft of 11.8 metres, a structural draft of 14 metres. The structural draft is approximately 85,000 tonnes. It is the first of six 85,000-dwt bulk carriers built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong for Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited which is classed by CCS.

The vessel is  awarded with  ‘Clean’ notation, its Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI)  has reached phrase 2. It falls in with the latest restrictions on sulfur emissions and nitrogen oxide emissions. As it complies obligations with respect to MD and SDoC under the Hong Kong Convention, CCS issued a statement of compliance of Inventory of Hazardous Materials which regulated by European Union. In addition, it also meets the latest requirements for the new Panama Canal rules and those regarding to vibrations and noise.

During the construction of ‘Seacon Nola’, CCS on-site team worked closely with shipowner and shipyard to provide high-quality and efficient survey services and technical support for customers.
